If you are finding it hard to pay your energy bills, help is available. Depending on your situation, you may find the right support here.

Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS)

You can get free and impartial advice from MABS to help you manage your money and take control of debt. They offer support online, over the phone and face to face.

 

Additional Needs Payment

A payment available to you if you have essential expenses that you cannot pay from your weekly income. This can include the increased cost of heating and electricity. You may get this payment even if you are not getting a social welfare payment. It may be available to you if you are working and on a low income regardless of the number of hours that you work.

 

The Household Benefits Package

This helps towards the costs of your electricity or gas bills. It also includes your television licence. Only one Household Benefits Package is payable per household and you must reside full time in Ireland.

 

Fuel Allowance

Fuel Allowance is a payment to help with the cost of heating your home during the winter months. You can get it if you are aged 70 or over, or getting long-term social welfare payments.
